- New York, USA -

On the early morning of Saturday, January 16, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office dispatched the South Minden Volunteer Fire Department to a home on 571 Salt Springville Road in Minden, because a fire was reported.

CBS6 reports that the Fire Chief determined the fire under control and requested the county fire investigation team.

Members of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery County Fire Investigation Team, and County Fire Coordinator Dale Furman also responded to the scene.

An investigation led to the arrest of the homeowner, 32-year-old ADAM J. PRIME (pictured below), who admitted to setting the residence on fire.

There were two innocent cats inside the home who died as a result.

PRIME was charged with aggravated cruelty to animals, and arson in the third degree.

Both charges are felonies.

The evil killer was processed and arraigned.

He was then released on his own recognizance to return to the Town of Minden Court at a later date.
