“The case was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office on January 20, 2023. The District Attorney filed (5) felony counts of animal cruelty against the Defendant (DA Case number PA099698.)”
~ Original story:
On Friday, January 20, 2023, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office charged 45-years-old ALEJANDRO MANUEL FLORES, of Sun Valley, with five counts of animal cruelty in connection with the killing of two dogs and injuring a third.
According to a news release by the Los Angeles Police Department, on the afternoon of Wednesday, January 18, 2023, its patrol officers from Foothill Division responded to a radio call of a “Home Invasion Robbery” that was taking place in the 9200 block of Cayuga Avenue in the community of Sun Valley.
Officers were advised by witnesses “that the suspect was in the backyard of a residence, armed with a knife and was possibly being attacked by dogs at the property. Witnesses updated Los Angeles Police Department Communications Division and advised that the suspect was also stabbing dogs at the location,” said police.
When officers made contact with the suspect, they saw a knife in his right hand and two dead dogs in the yard. The suspect, later identified as FLORES, was taken into custody.
Officers then made contact with the homeowners and learned that FLORES “was a known relative who resided at the location”.
In addition to the deceased dogs, officers also found a third dog who had been injured and was transported to a local animal shelter. Police did not disclose details about the furbaby’s well-being. Needless to say, I will email police and see how much they can disclose at this point so that I can update you all.
FLORES was booked for felony animal cruelty and online records show that he is still in custody on a $60,000 bail. According to court records, FLORES is scheduled to appear at the San Fernando courthouse for his arraignment on Monday, January 23, 2023, at 8:30 a.m.
Voice For Us strongly believes that when it comes to Animal Cruelty, the crimes need to be called what they are. When an innocent animal is killed it’s MURDER and it should be described, handled, and tried as such!
Additionally, Voice For Us does not agree with those law enforcement agencies who do not release animals abusers’ mugshots!!!!

Another animal murderer! At least this sadist idiot is still in jail. I hope he rots there. I am sick of people taking their insignificance & ignorance out on animals. If they want to fight, then get in a ring with another human who willingly wants to fight. Box it the eff out! But leave the innocent animals alone!!! Rest now you precious souls. I hope the third innocent victim is healing.
