AMANDA KLAPP charged with animal cruelty after many dogs found in unhealthy conditions in her kennel

- Tennessee, USA -

At the beginning of this week Hardeman County Sheriff’s deputies raided a kennel on Powell Chapel Road in Hornsby after people whose dogs were boarded there were unable to contact the owner of the kennel, AMANDA KLAPP (pictured below) and called the police.

WREG Memphis reports that at the kennel deputies found numerous dogs in unsanitary conditions and several of them were starved.

Sadly, two dogs were discovered already dead. One was found in a cage and the other one was found buried on the property.

KLAPP was eventually taken into custody after she initially resisted arrest.

She has been charged with twenty-three counts of animal cruelty and is scheduled to appear in County General Sessions Court on December 14, 2021.

A man named Brian who enrolled his dog Tilly at the kennel to gain obedience training for her, shared his experience with WJHL 11 and told the news agency how outraged he is by what happened to Tilly.

Brian said he has never been in the kennel because KLAPP insisted on picking up Tilly at his home and explained that KLAPP wanted to see how Tilly acted in the home so that she knew what to correct.

Brian said he only found out about the raid from another person whose dog was at the kennel and was later able to track down Tilly at the Hardeman County Animal Shelter.

According to Brian, Tilly had lost 10 pounds within 10 days of being at the kennel and had some scarring from being pushed against a metal crate.

He told WJHL 11: “It’s just a feeling of such anger. A dog is so innocent. It’s just hard to even put in words.”
