Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office says that 29-year-old ANTHONY BAIN (pictured below), was arrested for shooting his neighbor’s dog in the snout.

The incident happened on August 8, when deputies responded to a home on the 2200 block of Pleasant Grove Road in Milton.

On the scene, deputies spoke with a woman.

She explained to deputies that her father’s dog had been shot in the snout.

The victim is a 6-month-old Labrador retriever named Charlie.

When deputies questioned BAIN, he said Charlie had his Chihuahua pinned under his truck.

BAIN claimed that when he tried to call Charlie, he growled and snapped at him, so he shot him.

Charlie was taken to a veterinarian where X-ray revealed the presence of a .22 bullet in his throat.

The vet sent the X-ray and other evidence to Animal Control.

On Wednesday, October 21, ANTHONY BAIN was arrested and charged with animal cruelty.

He walked after posting a $2,500 bond.
