BETTY ANN DAVIS arrested after being caught on video twice throwing a dog off a second-story deck

Updated: Feb 8

- Pennsylvania, USA -

The Blooming Grove Police Department arrested 49-years-old BETTY ANN DAVIS.

On January 30, 2024, PSP Blooming Grove received a report about animal abuse that happened in the 5000 block of Woodbridge Drive East in Lehman Township, Pike County.

The reporting party explained to authorities that DAVIS, her roommate, was watching her dog, a small Pomsky. The dog’s guardian said that on January 29, 2024, DAVIS called her to say that her dog broke his/her leg by “getting caught in the crate.” The dog’s guardian then told DAVIS to take the dog to an emergency veterinarian.

When the dog’s guardian spoke with the veterinarian, she learned that her dog had a broken leg with the bone protruding from the skin, which possibly required amputation.

Furthermore, the veterinarian told the woman that the injury was “not consistent with the manner in which it was reported to have occurred.”

At that point the woman checked her home video starting from the night of January 28, 2024. According to police, footage showed DAVIS throwing the dog off the second-story deck before putting him/her back into the crate.

The Voiceless Victim remained in the crate with the protruding broken bone overnight, until the following morning when DAVIS called the dog’s guardian.

As the dog’s guardian watched more footage, she learned that on January 9, 2024, DAVIS had done the same thing before. She took the defenseless dog and threw him/her dog off the second-story deck.

DAVIS, of Bushkill, is facing multiple charges, including two felony counts of aggravated cruelty to animals by causing significant bodily injury or death and torture, along with two misdemeanors of cruelty to animals.

Court records show that DAVIS was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Randy Schmalzle on January 31, 2024. Schmalzle set a $30,000 unsecured bail which DAVIS was able to post. DAVIS is due back in court for her preliminary hearing on the morning of Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.

FOX 56 WOLF reports: “According to Pennsylvania State Police, Davis is employed by the Mid-Hudson Forensic Psychiatric Center in New Hampton, New York.”

If I hear back from the PSP regarding the dog’s condition, I will post an update.
