The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office said that on May 11, it received a complaint about dogs living in poor conditions at a residence in Malta Gardens Mobile Home Park.
Officials found two Pitbulls who were then secured by a Malta Animal Control Officer.
Deputies arrested 41-year-old CHRISTINA M. FLORES and 42-year-old SHAWN P. FLORES (both pictured below) and charged them with cruelty towards animals – a class A MISDEMEANOR.
According to a press release by the sheriff’s office, the couple are accused of failing to provide sustenance to the animals and of keeping them in unsafe and unsanitary living conditions.
They were issued tickets and released to appear at the Malta Town Court on a later date.
Both Pitbulls are now receiving care at the Saratoga County Animal Shelter.
