CHRISTOPHER EARL HATCHETT in custody after being sought for neglecting eight innocent dogs

On Tuesday, February 15, Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson reached out to the public in hopes of locating 40-years-old CHRISTOPHER EARL HATCHETT (pictured below) and said HATCHETT was accused of abusing eight innocent dogs.
Sheriff Swanson also said there was a reward of $1,000 in exchange for information leading to a criminal conviction.
The community came together and in a matter of three hours, Sheriff Swanson announced HATCHETT’s arrest.
Back in December 2021, Animal Control received a tip about possible dogs being neglected.
When deputies went to the address, they found eight dogs who were malnourished. The VOICELESS VICTIMS had no food or water.
One dog, now named Thrax, was tied to a tree with his leash wrapped around his back left leg causing him to lose blood flow. Thrax was left in this horrific condition for a week.
During Tuesday press conference Sheriff Swanson showed the heartbreaking pictures of how Thrax was found.
Sadly, this resulted in the 2-year-old furbaby having his leg amputated.
Referring to Thrax, Sheriff Swanson said: “This dog was within a short amount of time just destined for death. Upon further examination, Thrax when was rescued with his seven other family and friends, was not only skittish but was scared–yet brave.”
In a video posted on the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page Sheriff Swanson happily said the all the dogs are safe!
Thrax, along with the other seven dogs are now in the care of the Genesee County Animal Control and they are up for adoption.
The prosecutor’s office has charged HATCHETT with three different counts including torturing an animal, animal cruelty, and habitual offender as he is a convicted felon.
At the time of this writing, online records show HATCHETT is still in Genesee County Jail.
Not quite where he belongs! Individuals like him should be placed in a very hot place where powerful flames gradually burn them!

What a name. Hatchett. Ya think he's a drug user by any chance? I'd like to take a hatchet to his skull. Thrax is a such a beautiful dog. Bless this beautiful Thrax! I can’t imagine how much pain Thrax endured. I agree with the author “…very hot place where powerful flames gradually burn them”. Make it as slow & painful as Thrax’s leg as the wire wrapped tighter & tighter! Another subhuman piece of dung!
