DENNIS C. KIRKPATRICK arrested after more than eighty dogs were rescued from deplorable conditions

 - Kentucky, USA -

The Garrard County Sheriff’s Office arrested 64-year-old DENNIS C. KIRKPATRICK (pictured).

On August 8, 2024, deputies served a search warrant at a home on Royalty Drive in Lancaster that led to the discovery of more than eighty (80) dogs living inside the home in “extremely deplorable conditions”, stated the release from the office.

Sadly, inside the home officials also found animal remains “in a decayed state.”

All of the dogs were placed in the custody of the Garrard County Animal Control that was also on the scene along with Garrard Co Fire District One and several volunteers to assist the sheriff’s office.

County Officials deemed the home uninhabitable due to health and safety concerns.

Deputies arrested KIRKPATRICK at the scene and charged him with sixty-two (62) counts of cruelty to animals 2nd degree and a felony count of torture of a dog.

The sheriff’s office said that additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.

At the time of writing, records show that KIRKPATRICK is being held in the Jessamine County Detention Center without bond and is scheduled to appear in court on August 12, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.
