WKBN reports that on Monday, September 28, EDDIE JAMES ROBINSON JR. aka Jo Jo (pictured below), pleaded guilty to aggravated animal cruelty and third-degree murder in connection with the May 2019 shooting death of Khalil Hopson and his Pitbull named Blue (both pictured below).
WKBN reports that as part of his plea, ROBINSON JR. agreed to cooperate in the ongoing investigation.
Hopson, father of two, had been diagnosed with cancer and would have started treatment two weeks after the shooting took place at his home on Cedar Avenue in Sharon.
He died later that day in a Youngstown hospital.
WKBN reported on May 29, 2019, that Mercer County District Attorney Peter Acker said Blue had been to a veterinarian in Greenville where he underwent surgery to remove one of his legs but was expected to recover.
The date for the sentencing hearing is not known.
