~ Update: March 27, 2024
On Monday, March 25, 2024, FREDERICK INGRANDO JR. (pictured), was in court to face accusations of animal cruelty after a video shared on social media appeared to show him abusing a dog he was hired to walk.
The furvictim is a 3-year-old Golden Retriever named Tokyo.
NBC 10 Boston reports that a not-guilty plea was entered on INGRANDO’s behalf.
INGRANDO was ordered not to have contact with the dogs involved or their guardians. However, the judge still allowed him to work with animals.
Outside the courthouse, INGRANDO repeatedly told reporters that he loves dogs and that police are exaggerating.
NBC10 Boston asked INGRANDO’s father what he had to say about the way his son treated Tokyo. To that, he answered: “My son's a man, he was brought up the right way. He has a condition. If you can't see it by looking at him, then you guys ain't news people.”
Speaking of the way INGRANDO was brought up, let me also draw your attention to another unsettling aspect of the case. One of the witnesses who saw INGRANDO kicking and abusing Tokyo stepped in to defend the furbaby and INGRANDO started launching racial slurs at him. The video captured this!!!
INGRANDO is due back in court on April 30, 2024.
~ Original story:
The Medford Police Department announced the arrest of 33-years-old FREDERICK INGRANDO.
Police said in a media release that on the morning of Sunday, March 24, 2024, officers responded to the area of Fellsway West and Sheridan Avenue after receiving a report about a male who was being abusive toward a dog.
From the investigation it emerged that the male was walking a group of dogs and at some point, he struck one of the dogs in the head multiple times and then proceeded to lift up the Voiceless Victim off the ground by his/her collar “in a harmful manner”, said police.
Thankfully, an outstanding citizen did the right thing and recorded the abuse and then showed the video to the officers. The video allowed police to identify INGRANDO as the male seen in the footage.
Police went to INGRANDO’s home and placed him under arrest.
Police said that the dogs that INGRANDO was walking were not his. In fact, according to WCVB, INGRANDO “had listed his dog walking services on the popular Rover app.
Police removed from INGRANDO’s home the dogs he was hired to walk and took them to the Ocean View Kennels in Revere where later, they were picked up from their guardians.
The dog who was struck was taken to a veterinarian to be evaluated. Police tell me that the dog is a 3-year-old female Golden Retriever and that “she was cleared by a local veterinarian and released yesterday. She seems to be physically okay.”
In a statement to WCVB, a spokesperson for Rover said: We were shocked and disturbed to learn of this abhorrent behavior — there is zero tolerance for this type of treatment of pets in our community. Upon learning of these allegations, our 24/7 Trust and Safety Team suspended the pet care provider’s account and is conducting a full investigation. We will also assist law enforcement to the fullest extent possible.”
Police also told me that INGRANDO is scheduled to be arraigned at Somerville District Court on Monday, March 25, 2024.
This investigation is still ongoing.

This degenerate FREDERICK INGRANDO has no right to be anywhere near animals, let alone get paid for his cruelty to them. Bless the person who recorded & called authorities! We need more people like this caller & no one like the monster who abused this precious soul in public. Imagine what he does in the privacy of his home! Bless all those voiceless souls who have had the misfortune to be in his presence!
