A vicious attack on a defenseless dog was caught on video and is now being investigated by the Houston SPCA and Harris County Constable Precinct One.
The incident happened on the afternoon of Sunday, March 21, at a home in the Katy area.
The video, which was released on Monday, March 22, is truly hard to watch.
It shows a male striking the poor furbaby at least twenty times with what appears to be a shoe.
At some point the object slips out of the male’s hand, lands on the grass, the male picks it up and proceeds to brutally hit the dog.
Houston SPCA said in a Facebook post that the furbaby was removed and is now safe in their care.
Charges for the dog’s guardian have not yet been filed.
Constables say the incident is still under investigation.
Adam Reynolds, Chief Animal Cruelty Investigator for the Houston SPCA said: “We rely on our community’s eyes and ears, so it’s critical that animal abuse be reported immediately, especially when it involves violence towards animals. You could save a life just by sharing information online or by picking up the phone.”
