The Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff's Office arrested 60-years-old IVORY LANE SIMON (pictured) on eight counts of aggravated animal cruelty.
On December 29, 2022, deputies responded to an animal cruelty complaint at 3304 North Frontage Road Lot 17a.
A search warrant that was later executed, led to the discovery of a mama dog and seven puppies.
In a news release, the sheriff's office said that mom and babies were “taken to the Pet Emergency Clinic in Lake Charles and found to be in poor health.” Sadly, one of the puppies later passed away.
On January 2, 2023, an arrest warrant was obtained for SIMON and he turned himself in to JDPSO on January 11, 2023. SIMON was released after posting a $2,500 bond set by 31st Judicial District Judge Gunnell.
