On the afternoon of March 29, Ross County Sheriff deputies responded to a residence on Cattail Road northwest of Chillicothe about a threat complaint.
Upon arrival they talked to two women.
10WBNS reports that one of the women told deputies that her son made threats against them and poisoned her dog.
Deputies identified the woman’s son as 29-year-old JAMES LLOYD GRIFFIN JR. (pictured below).
According to the report, a deputy saw the furbaby was having a seizure and died a short time later.
A deputy noticed some items on a table which one of the women said her son used to give narcotics to the dog.
Deputies arrested GRIFFIN JR. on charges of cruelty to animals, aggravated menacing, and domestic violence.
GRIFFIN JR. is in custody at the Ross County Jail.
