The Coos County Sheriff’s Office said that deputies received a report of animal cruelty on July 6, and responded to Shinglehouse Road in Coos Bay, to investigate.
Following a brief investigation, with the assistance of Coos County Animal Control, deputies learned that 47-year-old JEFFREY A. ABBOTT (pictured below), caused the death of his male Pitbull “in a cruel manner and induced unnecessary suffering upon the dog.”
According to the press release by the sheriff’s office, ABBOTT was located in his RV at the David Dewitt Veterans Memorial and was taken into custody.
ABBOTT, of Hornbrook, California, was charged with one count of animal abuse.
He was transported to the Coos County Jail.
The sheriff’s office did not give details as to how the furbaby died and I reached to Sheriff Craig Zanni for more information.
If I get a response, I will post an update.
