The El Paso Police Department has been dealing with many animal cruelty cases lately.
According to the Department’s News Release of August 6, Animal Cruelty Investigations detectives arrested 22-year-old JENNIFER DE LA CRUZ (pictured), in connection with the death of her dog.
DE LA CRUZ was arrested Thursday, August 6, following an investigation launched after the carcass of a female German shepherd was discovered on July 11.
The poor furbaby was found in the backyard of a residence on 5721 Tropicana, tied to a metal pole.
Part of the News Release reads: “Empty bowls, presumably for water and food were found in the yard but they were beyond the reach of the length of chain tied to the dog. Shade was not
available for the dog and ground temperature at that time of discovery of the carcass
was 152 degrees.”
DE LA CRUZ was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility.
WHY BRING ANIMALS INTO YOUR FAMILIES IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO TAKE CARE OF THEM???
In my book there is no difference between neglect and premeditated murder and those who neglect animals should be sentenced following the same standards of those who take the life of a human being!!!
