UPDATE: August 19, 2021
The St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office provided me with the following update.
JEREMY NATHANIEL LINDSEY (pictured), previously pled guilty on August 25, 2020 to Count I: Killing a Domestic Animal, a Level 6 Felony, and Count II: Torturing or Mutilating a Vertebrate Animal, a Level 6 Felony.
In a hearing which took place on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, LINDSEY appeared before a St. Joseph County Superior Court Judge and was ordered held without bond.
A sentencing hearing is scheduled for September 21, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. before the Honorable Judge Sanford.
UPDATE: August 31, 2020
On Tuesday, August 25, JEREMY NATHANIEL LINDSEY (pictured below) appeared in court and admitted felony counts of killing a domestic animal and torturing a domestic animal.
The Metro reports that LINDSEY “struck a plea deal which saw a separate count of killing a domestic animal dropped in return for his admission.”
On January 29, 2020, LINDSEY’s stepmom, Danielle Chubb, came back home and found their 3-week-old puppy named Cammie lying on the couch.
She later told officers that she was scraped up and looked like she had been hit by a car.
When Danielle went to do laundry, she found hair and blood inside, so she told her husband, Justin Duis, and they called the police.
Cammie’s killer told officers he had put Cammie in the clothes dryer because “she was being mean to the family’s cat.”
South Bend Police Department arrested LINDSEY at his home on 519 Sherman Avenue and taken to St. Joseph County Jail.
Cammie was buried in the family’s yard.
This monster will be back in Court on September 26, 2020, for sentencing.
He faces up to 6 years in prison if convicted.

On Wednesday, January 29, South Bend Police Department arrested 18-year-old JEREMY NATHANIEL LINDSEY (pictured below), for killing the family’s puppy named Cammie.
Cammie was only 3 weeks old and was put in the clothes dryer because “she was being mean to the family’s cat” said LINDSEY.
Reportedly, when LINDSEY’s stepmom, Danielle Chubb, came back home, she found Cammie lying on the couch. She later told officers that she was scraped up and looked like she had been hit by a car.
When Danielle went to do laundry, she found hair and blood inside, so she told her husband, Justin Duis, and they called the police.
Mr. Duis hadn’t seen his son for many years, and they had just reconnected.
LINDSEY was arrested at his home on 519 Sherman Avenue and taken to St. Joseph County Jail until his hearing and arraignment scheduled for Monday, February 3.
He is facing felony and misdemeanor charges and could spend 6 years behind bars if convicted.
