- Florida, Walton County, USA -
On Tuesday, October 20, Walton County Sheriff's deputies were called to the area around 1 Jefferson Street in Freeport after witnesses called 911 to report a male abusing a dog.
Responding deputies found a tan dog running northbound near Jefferson Street, who was in pain and looked scared.
A male riding a bike was chasing after the furbaby and when a deputy confronted him, he said: “I don’t have time for you.”
That male was later identified as JONAH KYLE BREWER (pictured below).
According to witnesses, BREWER used his fist like a hammer to hit the furbaby in the face and then threw her in the air.
The dog named Ella Gene, was taken by animal control and is now being held at the Walton County Animal Shelter.
BREWER was charged with causing pain and suffering to a dog, which is a felony in Florida.
He was taken to the Walton County Jail.
Walton County Animal Services, Florida wrote in a Facebook post: “Ella Gene is making herself at home at the Walton County Animal Shelter. She's getting lots of love and absolutely adores playing catch!
At this time, her length of stay with us is uncertain. A lot of what's to come in her future must be decided by the courts. She WILL NOT be available for adoption or foster until that time.
In order to make her time with us more comfortable, we are accepting donations. Those who wish to learn more about how to donate, please visit https://waltonso.org/donate-to-wcas/.”
