KENNETH VOGT facing felony charges after he killed one cat and nearly killed another

- Nebraska, USA -

On Saturday, October 1, 2022, the Omaha Fugitive Task Force arrested 24-years-old KENNETH VOGT (pictured) after he killed one cat and nearly killed another.

KETV reports that according to the arrest warrant, an investigation was launched on July 20, 2022, after it was reported that a cat had been found outside the front doors of a plumbing company off Wenninghoff Road in Omaha.

The caller reported that outside of Advantage Plumbing, was a lifeless cat who was described to be tied up and tortured.

An animal control investigator reported that the cat had “all four legs bound with a black nylon cloth,” that the small head of the furbaby appeared to have severe blunt force trauma, and “both eyeballs had ruptured from the sockets.” The cat was microchipped to VOGT.

On the same day, July 20, 2022, a second call came from Miller Park where a cat was discovered alive but was suffocating as he/she had a piece of black stretchy nylon wrapped around his/her tiny neck, and “both legs bound with a rope” reports KETV.

Steve Glandt, vice president of field operations for the Nebraska Humane Society, told KETV: “It was kind of wedged between a fence and rock wall. I don't know how easy it was to see, but fortunately some people did and tried to save it.”

The furbaby received medical care from NHS after being rescued and was later transferred to another facility for adoption. This cat was also registered and microchipped to VOGT.

Following a two month plus investigation an arrest warrant was finally issued for VOGT.

A search warrant executed at VOGT’s apartment led to the discovery of black nylon material, a rope which appeared to have been cut in his apartment, and many cat items.

Reportedly, VOGT told investigators that the black nylon material was pantyhose.

Mr. Glandt explained to KETV that “Investigators found the same or very similar materials that both cats had been bound with.”

According to KETV, the warrant states that VOGT initially told investigators the two cats escaped through his apartment door and a third cat was hit by a car earlier in the year.

VOGT, however, later admitted to tying ropes to the cats’ legs and stomachs because “I was training my cats to be samurai, it's like a workout, so that's what I did.”

VOGT told investigators the ropes were used for resistance and muscle building and that it was something he had seen in anime. VOGT did not admit to the killing.

During the investigation, detectives made contact with VOGT’s ex-girlfriend who said that in June she filed a protection order against him. The woman told authorities that although she and VOGT dated almost five years ago, he would still find ways to find her and harass her. According to the ex-girlfriend, this Summer VOGT sent her a message wanting to “take her eyeballs.”

Mr. Glandt rightfully said: “That's just not normal thinking or behavior to torture animals like that.” He also added: “Kind of makes your skin crawl that somebody like this is living in our community and walking among us.”

VOGT is in the Douglas County Jail on a $50,000 bond. His next court date was scheduled for November 4, 2022.

It is a good thing this sadistic monster is behind bars & he better stay there. What he did to those cats is horrible & I wager practice for a human. I’m so sorry they were tortured. RIP to the ones who died. This was not KENNETH VOGT ’s first rodeo, this is just the beginning. He truly must be punished & kept away from society.
