Thanks to Johnny Mathis, his neighbor’s dog is alive.
CNN reports that on Monday, December 9, 27-year-old Johnny Mathis was coming home from work and had just parked his car in his apartment complex's underground garage.
He then took the elevator to his apartment on the ground floor.
When he got off, he saw a woman and her dog about to get in the elevator.
Johnny told CNN: "When she got on, I was looking at the dog, because it was a cute dog." "I noticed the leash was kinda long but I didn't think it wasn't going to make it on the elevator or anything."
The woman was not looking at her Pomeranian and did not hold the door for her furbaby so when she got in and the door closed, her dog remained outside with his long leash caught in the door.
A surveillance camera captured Johnny immediately rushing to the pooch.
He can be seen grabbing the leash and struggling while he tries to remove it.
Johnny said that the woman came back up and thanked him for rescuing her baby.
The next day he went to his apartment leasing office and explained what happened.
Personnel went to take a look at the security video.
Thank you Johnny for saving this precious life!
