~ Original story:
On Monday, August 3, police charged 43-year-old NAZARENO GOLDSTON (pictured below) with animal cruelty after he kicked his dog to death.
Reportedly, GOLDSTON was arguing with his wife and when she attempted to call 911, police say: “He grabbed the phone and "momentarily prevented the call.”
GOLDSTON then repeatedly kicked the family dog.
When Police and Animal Control arrived at the home on Hackett Avenue in Milford, they pronounced the furbaby dead.
NAZARENO GOLDSTON was charged with misdemeanor animal cruelty, disorderly conduct and interfering with a 911 call.
His bail was set at $5,000.
On Monday, August 17, GOLDSTON appeared in front of a judge and his charges were upped to felony.
The judge also issued a protective order against GOLDSTON requiring he stay away from his relative and her residence.
Advocates were outside Superior Court in Milford pushing for the court to levy more serious charges against the dog’s killer and bring awareness to the issue of animal cruelty and its connection with domestic abuse.
