NEHEMIAH PATE arrested after twelve malnourished dogs were seized from his property

- North Carolina, USA -

Robeson County Sheriff Burnis Wilkins announced the arrest of 25-year-old NEHEMIAH PATE (pictured below).

According to the Sheriff’s Facebook post, on Monday, February 22, Robeson County Sheriff’s Office investigators responded to 134 Ottmus Road in Pembroke after receiving an animal violation report.

A citizen alerted the Sheriff’s Office to the living conditions and malnourishment of several dogs.

Animal Cruelty Investigator Katherine Floyd also responded to the scene to investigate the complaint.

Officers found twelve dogs who were malnourished, underfed, and kept in filthy cages.

All the furbabies were seized from PATE’s property and were taken to a veterinarian hospital for treatment and care.

PATE was charged with twelve counts of MISDEMEANOR cruelty to animals.

PATE was placed in the custody of the Robeson County Detention with a $2,000 secured bond.

Sheriff Wilkins said: “There is no excuse for animal cruelty. Animals can’t express their feelings but when abuse is recognized, we must become their voice.”

Many thanks to whoever reported PATE to the authorities!
