ORVILLE BRIAN NAILER and MICHAEL DEVANE POOLE arrested after 115 dogs were removed from their home

- Alabama, USA -

Following several complaints about dogs running loose, on Monday, January 24, Walker County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Greater Birmingham Humane Society, Jasper Animal Shelter, Walker County EMA, Walker County Humane Society, and Saragossa Fire Department, executed a search warrant at a residence on Maddox Road in the Lupton/Prospect community.

The Walker County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that while the search warrant was being executed, deputies tracked one of the suspects to a location near the bowling alley in Jasper and was taken into custody. According to the release, the suspect, identified as ORVILLE BRIAN NAILER (pictured), had eleven dogs in his vehicle and all the furbabies were picked up by the Jasper Animal Shelter.

NAILER, of Nauvoo, was arrested for 28 counts of animal cruelty in the 2nd degree.

NAILER also had a warrant for failing to appear in court on a Driving while Suspended ticket.

The sheriff’s office charged a second person in this case.

MICHAEL DEVANE POOLE (also pictured) was also charged with 28 counts of cruelty to a dog, second degree.

While deputies were on site removing all the dogs with the assistance of the agencies mentioned above, the sheriff’s office posted regular updates on its Facebook page.

The last update read: “Today’s final count was 115. One hundred and fifteen dogs were removed from a horrid situation, given medical treatment, and a ride to a new life.

That number doesn’t include those found already deceased, or the ones who were buried in the backyard at some point. Some 70+ dogs were captured outside, and another 30+ were found inside the residence. The dogs rescued today were malnourished, neglected, and most were very frail.”

Walker County Sheriff Nick Smith said the investigation is ongoing and more charges are expected for NAILER and POOLE.

KATV reports that TJ Armstrong with the Walker County Sheriff’s Office said this was a situation that got out of control.

There’s absolutely no excuse in the world for animals to be living in this situation”, he said.

Armstrong is thankful the animals are getting the care they deserve and added: “Most of the animals when we pulled up I think they were just happy to see another human.”

115 poor souls live in a hell on earth! These two jerks now must live in their hell on earth, prison. They have total disregard for these dogs, therefore they do not deserve any more chances. Get better Precious Souls.
