PETER MILLER accused of confining his dog to a small cage in deplorable conditions for ten days

- New York, USA -

Following an investigation, on Friday, December 30, 2022, detectives with the Suffolk County SPCA charged 57-years-old PETER MILLER with two counts of animal cruelty and neglect.

MILLER, formerly of Amity Harbor but now claimed to be living in Melville, is accused of confining his male Bull Terrier, named Buster, “to a small cage in deplorable conditions for 10 straight days without removing the dog from the cage or cleaning the cage,” said the SPCA in a news release.

The cage in which Buster was being kept, “was found to have a putrid smell of rotting food, ammonia and urine, with a urine-soaked blanket and moldy food.”

A veterinary examination determined that Buster suffered from discomfort due to large areas of matted fur caked with excrement, urine scalding, redness, and irritation all over his paws, legs, belly and hind area, severe inflammation between his toes, bleeding toes, bruises and scrapes inside his mouth and tongue, matted fur deep in his ear canal, a chewed-up tail and eye pus.

MILLER’s court appearance was set for Monday, January 16, 2023, in First District Court, Central Islip.
