PHILIP J. LIN arrested for violating terms of his release related to an animal cruelty investigation

- Connecticut, USA -

The Cheshire Police Department arrested 23-years-old PHILIP J. LIN (pictured), for violating terms of his release stemming from an animal cruelty investigation.

To understand the violation of the conditions of LIN’s release we need to go back to October 2021, when Cheshire police responded to LIN’s mother’s home on Edith Place after receiving a tip that LIN might be running a puppy mill.

During the course of the months-long investigation, police discovered on the property the bodies of two deceased dogs, Blue and Bo Bo.

Blue, a 7-year-old Maltese, was found in a plastic bag buried in a shallow grave marked by a large rock near the driveway.

During an interview with police, LIN said he had been bathing Blue. When the dog acted out, he hit the furbaby in the nose. LIN also told police that he then left, leaving Blue inside the bathtub full of water and when he went back after a few minutes, Blue had drowned.

As for Bo Bo, LIN told officers that he had been walking the furbaby on a leash and, when he was trying to go inside, Bo Bo kept pulling to stay outside. LIN said he “pulled the leash too tight,” snapping Bo Bo's neck. Bo Bo's remains were sent to the University of Connecticut's Department of Pathobiology for a necropsy. The report came back stating that Bo Bo was in an advanced state of decomposition and analysts did not collect tissues for examination.

At LIN’s mother’s home, officials also found more than twenty dogs whom police said were in good condition.

LIN’s mother, 46-years-old ALISON YI GU a.k.a. ALISON LING and ALSION YI LING, told police that she was rescuing dogs from Asia and showed health certificates for five dogs. According to the affidavit obtained by Voice For Us, Cheshire Animal Control Officer April Leiler noted that the paperwork was in a different language, so she was not able to determine the dogs’ breeds or where they came from.

LIN was arrested on September 27, 2022, on two felony counts of animal cruelty.

Before being released from custody, Judge Thomas V. Okeefe Jr. prohibited the filthy murderer from being inside his mother’s home unsupervised with any animals.

LIN, however, ignored the terms of his release and a few weeks ago, he was found at his mother’s house during her absence with dogs present on the property.

On October 5, 2022, LIN’s mother was arrested for violating her federal probation so police told LIN he had to leave the home per court conditions and LIN’s mother hired a woman to take care of her twenty-eight dogs.

When LIN’s mother was released the following day, she went to the home to feed the dogs and found a small white Shih Tzu named Coco in the basement with a plastic feeding bucket stuck on her head. The woman realized that her son had been alone in the home overnight.

Fire personnel had to cut off the bucket to free Coco.

As LIN’s mother was bathing the furbaby, she noticed someone had recently shaved her private parts which at that point were “red, bruised, and swollen.”

Police went back to the home again that day and officers found clumps of animal hair, which matched Coco's hair, on top of a dryer in the laundry room as well as a blue disposable razor in a mop bucket containing fecal matter.

Police then questioned LIN about Coco but he denied any knowledge about the incident and said he was sleeping in his basement bedroom.

On October 21, 2022, LIN was charged with a first-degree violation of the conditions of his release. Despite everything, the murderer was not held in jail but was released.

According to online court records, LIN is scheduled to appear for this case in state Superior Court in Meriden on November 15, 2022, at 10:00 a.m.
