RAAHKEEM ORLANDO YOUNG arrested after three puppies and an adult dog were found dead in a dumpster

Following an investigation into four deceased Pitbulls who were found in a dumpster, between November 15 and December 26, 2022, the Myrtle Beach Police Department has charged 33-years-old RAAHKEEM ORLANDO YOUNG (pictured) with felony animal cruelty and failure to properly bury animals.

Police said in a news release that on November 15, 2022, Animal Control officers responded to 2005 Greens Boulevard “after a person found three deceased Pitbulls in a dumpster inside a plastic tub covered in feces and urine. The adult female dog was starved and had a broken foot. The two six to eight-week-old puppies were drowned.”

On December 26, 2022, Animal Control officers responded to the same location after a ten to twelve-week-old Pitbull puppy was found in a plastic tub discarded next to the same dumpster where the four Pitbulls had been found in November.

“Officers learned the puppy died of illness and drowning,” said police.

Officers found a receipt that had been discarded with the puppy which made possible the connection with YOUNG. From an investigation it emerged that YOUNG “was responsible for animals,” stated the release.

The link to YOUNG was also supported by footage from cameras from the store and the city traffic and street cameras.

YOUNG, of Myrtle Beach, was taken into custody on Saturday, January 7, 2023, and released on a PR bond later that day. The filthy murderer is charged with four counts of felony animal cruelty and four counts of failure to properly bury animals.

I had emailed the Myrtle Beach Police Department to inquire about the VOICELESS VICTIMS and I was made aware of a post published by the Grand Strand Humane Society.

The post reads:

“There are some cases that will haunt our team forever. This is one of those cases.

We would all like to tuck it away in a corner of our minds... bury it in the depths of our hearts.. so that we wouldn't have to continue to feel the pain that we felt looking at these innocent creatures who had been so callously and needlessly tortured.

But, we will force ourselves to talk about the horror that these beautiful dogs endured. Our community will not stop until justice is served. We may not have been able to save these precious lives, but perhaps we can help prevent future suffering.

We are unbelievably proud and grateful to have such dedicated police officers here in Myrtle Beach. They truly are second to none. The entire department rallied around our animal control officer in the investigation of this tragedy. The safety of all city residents (both two legged and four legged) is of the utmost importance to these brave men and women and we are reminded, yet again, of how lucky we are to call this city home.

Our team has named these angels. Each of their names means love. Their deaths will fuel our passion to save those that cannot save themselves. We will carry them with us always.
