REWARD offered for information after a dog was stabbed seventeen times in Nassau County

- New York, USA -

The Nassau County SPCA is offering a reward for information after an innocent and defenseless dog was stabbed seventeen (17) times!

Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnelly held a press conference on Thursday, December 28, 2023, during which she recounted the facts of this horrific case.

On November 27, 2023, a roughly 2-year-old male Pitbull Terrier mix was found bleeding profusely on Washburn Avenue in Freeport, Long Island. Thankfully, a woman who lives there spotted him and took him to the animal shelter Bobbi and the Strays. Staff explained that given the seriousness of the injuries he sustained, the Voiceless Victim could not be treated at their facility so the woman rushed him to the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter. Vets took on the furvictim, named him Cornell, and transferred him to an emergency veterinarian in Farmingdale.

DA Donnelly explained that some of Cornell’s stab wounds caused him to sustain collapsed lungs, causing them to leak air. She said that during the treatment, Cornell’s lungs had to be drained “a number of times.”

Authorities are now reaching out to the public for information that will lead to the prosecution of the vile individual(s) who did this to a defenseless dog.

As DA Donnelly said: “We need to know what happened to this dog.”

She went on to say: “If you have seen Cornell being walked down the street in your neighborhood. If you’ve seen Cornell in someone’s backyard. If you’ve been anywhere where you think you have seen this dog, I ask you to call my Animal Crimes Hotline.”

Cornell cannot tell us who did this to him. Cornell could not dial 911 to report what happened to him, he had to rely on a Good Samaritan to rescue him.

If you know who the monster is, I beg you to come forward and call the DA’s Office Animal Crimes Hotline at (516) - 571 - 7755. Thank you!

What a lousy POS to do this to any animal. Bless Cornell & all those good humans who saved him.
