The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office arrested 37-years-old RITA FAYE TANT and 44-years-old JOSEF ALEXANDRA BRADY (both pictured) and charged them each with six counts of aggravated animal cruelty.
According to the arrest affidavit obtained by Voice For Us, TANT and BRADY are accused of torturing six dogs by depriving them of food and water for a prolonged period of time at their apartment on 209 Chateau Drive in Rome.
The torture and neglect caused the death of two of the furbabies.
The affidavit described the dogs as being either black and white mixed-breed or brindle mixed breed. The sheriff’s office told me that pictures of the dogs could not be released at this time as they are evidence in the case.
Court records show that BRADY is scheduled to appear in Floyd County Superior Court on October 20, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. before Judge Kay Ann Wetherington, while TANT’s court appearance was slated for October 27, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. before Judge William F. Sparks.

RITA FAYETANT & JOSEF ALEXANDRA BRADY sure as hell fed their faces! I will never understand how a human can just starve an animal whilst ensuring their mouths are stuffed with food! No excuses!! Jail them, starve them. Give them exactly what they ’gave’ those precious souls. RIP to the two that didn’t survive. Please get better to the four that survived.
