ROGER HENRY ALEXANDER, Ottawa University student, accused of murdering a defenseless javelina

- Arizona, USA -

On Wednesday, January 25, 2023, the Surprise Police Department arrested 20-years-old ROGER HENRY ALEXANDER (pictured) for beating an innocent javelina to death with a baseball bat.

ALEXANDER is a sophomore at Ottawa University based in Surprise, a private Christian university, where he's an outfielder on the baseball team.

According to the Arizona Game and Fish Department website, “Though some people think javelina are a type of wild pig, they are actually members of the peccary family, a group of hoofed mammals originating from South America.”

The murder of the defenseless creature was captured on camera and posted on Snapchat.

Police said that on January 18, 2023, ALEXANDER, parked in the area of Bullard Avenue and Waddell Road with his headlights on, blinding the javelina. ALEXANDER then exited the vehicle with a baseball bat and batting gloves and SENSELESSLY and CRUELLY hit the javelina in the head causing his/her death. Police said ALEXANDER is then seen on the video laughing and smiling.

ALEXANDER was booked into the Maricopa County Jail on one felony count of animal cruelty and one misdemeanor count of intentional unnecessary physical injury to an animal. He was also issued four citations by the Arizona Game and Fish Department.

According to the Arizona Game and Fish Department, it is unlawful to trap javelina and it is unlawful to injure or kill javelinas even if they are causing a problem, unless certain rigorous provisions under the law have been met.

Arizona’s Family reports that when ALEXANDER was taken into custody at a home near Litchfield and Greenway roads, officers asked him why he hit the javelina, and he said he thought they were a “nuisance animal,” so he didn’t think it mattered.

Kevin Steele, Athletic Director for Ottawa University, said in a statement to Arizona’s Family: “We have investigated the situation and communicated with officials from Arizona Fish and Wildlife, as well as, the Surprise Police Department. We regret that any one of our student-athletes were involved in this action but we are handling it properly and privately. Ottawa University will always hold its students to a high standard as we work and serve in the community we live.”

FOX 10 reports that ALEXANDER worked for Top Choice Officials A-Z, which trains umpires, and Bryan Fields said in a statement: “Top Choice Officials strongly condemn abuses of any kind. As an independent contractor, Roger Alexander will no longer be associated with Top Choice Officials.”

If we were permitted to beat ‘nuisance creatures’ then a lot less ‘creatures’ would be walking this earth. Why do punks like this one feel it is okay to kill, just for the fun of it?! I blame this mostly on parents. If they never have to answer for their cruelty toward living breathing souls then they will just go on eliminating anyone that pisses them off. There’s been too much killing in this country, something must be changed. And the school will handle this privately?? Sounds like a carpet is about to be lifted to sweep some trouble under it. Sickening POS! Keep an eye on this killer! Rest now wee javelin. You were wronged. Hopefully Justice will be…
