SEAN THOMAS SLOAN arrested after he was caught on video cowardly assaulting his dog

- Texas, USA -

The Parker County Sheriff’s Office announced that on Sunday, April 4, deputies arrested 28-year-old SEAN THOMAS SLOAN (pictured below), in connection with an animal cruelty investigation.

Deputies were dispatched to the 7200-block of Comanche Trail where they learned from a neighbor that they saw SLOAN assault his 3-year-old Husky named Shy.

The neighbor had filmed the incident and showed it to deputies.

As stated in the news release, the video shows SLOAN “aggressively grabbing the dog as it was tethered in the front yard of the home. Sloan then struck the dog in the face and neck with a closed fist, contorting its neck, forcing its snout to touch its back, and struck it several additional times. The dog attempted to escape Sloan, at which time, Sloan grabbed the dog's muzzle and forced it to the ground while striking it on its rear right hip, face and neck several more times. The dog was able to get away from Sloan and ran under the residence.”

After watching the video, deputies made contact with SLOAN.

Reportedly, he told deputies he had a “dispute” with Shy after he ate half of a chicken.

SLOAN claimed he “only slapped” Shy three times.

Deputies then saw the chicken who had a minor puncture wound on the back, “but was otherwise uninjured and walking around with other chickens at the residence”, states the news release.

Thankfully, another witness came forward and told deputies he saw SLOAN “about to break his neck,” and “near[sic] killed him.”

Deputies arrested SLOAN on the charge of cruelty to non-livestock animals; torture.

According to the news release, SLOAN was booked into the Parker County Jail where he remains on a $15,000 bond.

Online records show he was released the day after his arrest.

As for Shy, animal control took custody of the furbaby so that he could receive veterinary care.

Parker County Sheriff Russ Authier said: “Animal cruelty cases are a top priority for my office.”

Let’s just hope the judge who will preside over this case feels the same!

Online records show SLOAN has been a guest of the Parker County Jail before.
