The death of an innocent and sweet dog prompted Maple Shade Police to launch an investigation.
eu.app.com reports that on Tuesday evening, September 17, a family in Burlington County was alerted by a neighbor about their 9-year-old Pomeranian poodle mix.
The furbaby named Toby, was injured and was crying not far from the family home on Greenwood Avenue.
The family thought that Toby had been hit by a car and rushed him to the ER.
An X-ray revealed the presence of a bullet from a .22-caliber.
Toby had been shot in the head so police had to be notified and a full necropsy was ordered.
Sadly, Toby was euthanized the day after the incident.
Marissa Cook said that Toby was her grandparents’ dog.
He was friendly, his was let out regularly in the family yard, and he was well known in the neighborhood. He escaped from underneath the fence.
Reprtedly, there is a witness and they did not see any cars driving by, which means the killer could be in the neighborhood!
