The Stanly County Sheriff's Office wrote in a Facebook post that on Monday, August 17, deputies were on a property on 32078 Rowland Road in Albemarle for a routine service of an arrest warrant.
While on the scene, deputies noticed evidence of animal abuse.
TERRY RICHARD GLOVER (pictured below), was present and in apparent control of the residence.
Evidence gathered on the scene led to the arrest of GLOVER.
He was charged with 25 counts of felony cruelty to animals by starvation.
Stanly County Animal Control was called in.
The following day, the Sheriff’s Office learned that animals were still at the residence in unfit conditions.
Deputies obtained a search warrant to locate and seize the animals and to provide immediate medical care and food and water.
Animal Control went back and took possession of the remaining dogs present at the residence.
The Sheriff’s Office also wrote that due to the amount of large animals present, 12 horses and numerous cattle, Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control was also called in.
They came with numerous deputies and equipment to assist with relocating the animals.
Despite all the help, there was still too much to handle and after a few calls, the public also responded.
Deputies from Stanly and Cabarrus County spent over 6 hours getting the poor animals relocated so that their basic and medical needs could be addressed.
Voice For Us note: As you can see this was a complex operation requiring the intervention of many people. Just imagine GLOVER showing up in court and a judge just slaps him with a fine or a ridiculous sentence that undermines all the work and efforts of those involved in the case.
Maybe some judges should get their behind off the chair and get their hands dirty like law enforcement agencies and animal rescues!
