On Thursday, May 26, New Smyrna Beach police arrested 25-years-old TESIA C. WHITE (pictured), after four dogs were left in a hot car and lost their precious lives.
New Smyrna Beach Police said in a news release that WHITE had gone to a restaurant on 325 Canal Street, New Smyrna Beach, to have lunch and left in the vehicle 4 dogs, including two puppies.
According to charging documents obtained by Voice For Us, the furbabies were identified as:
4-year-old female Goldendoodle black in color named Dora
2-year-old female brindle Boxer named Brandy
12-week-old female Goldendoodle puppy golden in color named Lilo
12-week-old male Goldendoodle puppy white in color named Hiccup
WHITE told police that she was visiting the area from Gainesville, Missouri.
She claimed that she left the air conditioning on with the windows up and checked on the dogs once. She further claimed that when she finished lunch an hour later, she found the dogs dead.
As reported by The Dayton Beach News-Journal, “according to AccuWeather, the high temperature in New Smyrna Beach on Thursday was 86 degrees.”
WHITE was arrested on four counts of felony animal cruelty and booked into the Volusia County Jail. Online records show WHITE is being held on a $10,000 bond.
According to online court records, WHITE’s first court appearance was scheduled for May 27, 2022, at 1:30 p.m.
