TIFFANY ANN YOUNG arrested for neglecting horses on her property with one being euthanized

- Florida, USA -

On Thursday, March 10, Animal Control Officers with the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office returned to a residence in the 6100 block of South Lecanto Highway regarding a follow-up check on animals on the property being in poor health.

According to a news release issued by the sheriff’s office, the property’s owner, 25-years-old TIFFANY ANN YOUNG (pictured below) had previously been made aware of the unfit conditions of the animals in her care.

Among many animals, was a horse named Jim lying on his side in the dirt who was hardly breathing.

Officers determined that due to the hoof marks in the dirt around him, Jim had been lying there for some time.

A veterinarian sadly determined that Jim was in such a neglected state that he had to be put down.

Officers then discovered another horse whose ribs and hip bones were showing.

Citrus County Chronicle reports that according to YOUNG’s arrest report, she “was informed by the veterinarian the week before that Jim needed to be euthanized, but she refused and became angry with [the] animal doctor.”

YOUNG claimed she was feeding her horses but couldn’t understand why they were so thin.

And yet, she did not seek veterinarian advice.

The arresting deputy reported that YOUNG “believed something on the property was the cause.”

As reported by Citrus County Chronicle, animal control officers “discovered large amounts of sand when they tested the horses’ feces, leading them to believe the animals had little to no grass to eat.”

YOUNG was aware of the hay being moldy because the week before animal control officers told her to replace it and she did not.

YOUNG was taken into custody on two felony counts of animal cruelty.

As officers were placing her under arrest, they found a short-cut plastic straw in her front pocket, which tested positive for the presence of fentanyl.

YOUNG was additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was transported to the Citrus County Detention Facility where she is being held on a $5,000 bond.

YOUNG is scheduled to be arraigned on March 30, 2022, before Circuit Court Judge Joel Fritton.

Surprise surprise, another druggie that neglects animals to the point of death. She was warned but the horses were left in her possession?! That decision was the death nail for Jim! RIP JIM! Prayers for the others. Disgust for the ones that decided to gamble with these precious souls lives. Jim lost.
