- Arkansas, USA -
Following an incident in which an apartment was deliberately set on fire leading to the death of an innocent dog trapped inside, 21-years-old TIMETRA SHAWNTA JOHNSON (pictured below), has been charged with aggravated animal cruelty and arson.
TXK Today reports that according to probable cause documents, on August 4, JOHNSON set a fire in an apartment in the Orleans Apartment at 2400 E. 24th Street in Texarkana.
According to ArkLaTex, police said witnesses saw JOHNSON “climbing out a window and flee the scene and camera footage from the apartment complex shows her leaving the unit right before the fire started.”
Fire Marshal James Wall who investigated the fire, said that JOHNSON initially tried to blame her boyfriend for the fire but eventually confessed to the crime.
If convicted of aggravated animal cruelty, JOHNSON faces up to only six years in prison and a fine up to $10,000.
I have emailed the Miller County Sheriff’s Office to request additional information about the innocent dog who was killed in the fire.
If I get a response, I will post an update.
