TIMOTHY DANIEL SICKEL arrested for neglecting his dog

Updated: Dec 16, 2020

- Florida, USA -

An investigation opened on September 3, 2020, has concluded with the arrest of 35-year-old TIMOTHY DANIEL SICKEL (pictured below).

It all started when the Port St. Lucie Police Department responded to a property in the 400 Block of SE Cork Road and met with the owner.

The tenant, SICKEL, was not there.

The landlord was doing a prearranged, routine check on the house when she found a dog locked in a kennel without food or water.

The 2-year-old male dog named Rocky, was emaciated.

Officers attempted to track down SICKEL.

They then called in Port St Lucie Animal Control.

The Department wrote in a Facebook post that: “Animal Control Officers observed “Rocky” to be very thin, with rib and hip bones easily visible and very little muscle mass. Animal Control Officers took possession of “Rocky” and brought him to Veterinary Medical Center of St. Lucie County. Staff observed “Rocky” to be emaciated and pointed out sores on both sides of his hip as a result of the emaciation.”

Rocky weighed 47.5 pounds, but should have been about 60 to 70 pounds so veterinarians put him on prescription food.

When eventually the police were able to talk with SICKEL, he told them that Rocky has had problems with his weight throughout his life, and believed the weight problem was due to separation anxiety.

He claimed he regularly fed Rocky, but he was not gaining weight.

The crap these scum come up with to get out of their wrongdoing is unbelievable!

The Department advises that the furbaby now weighs 16 pounds more than he did in September.

It must be the food that he is actually eating!!!

Rocky will remain at the Humane Society of St. Lucie County.

SICKEL was arrested on December 11.

He was taken to the St. Lucie County Jail and charged with animal cruelty before posting $1,005 bail.
