Officers with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Animal Protective Services have charged three subhumans with animal cruelty.
According to a news release by the sheriff’s office, Animal Protective Services (APS) received a report about dogs running at large at Sabbath Home Road in Supply.
Responding officers noticed the dogs were in poor condition and alerted the APS director.
After obtaining and executing a search warrant on Tuesday, July 27, officials removed fourteen dogs who were found in deplorable condition. They are now safe at APS.
Sadly, officials also discovered four dead dogs inside the home.
APS charged 55-year-old TODD ERIC MORRIS, 50-year-old MARGIE RENEE FOWLER-MORRIS, and 23-year-old JOHN WILLIAM THOMAS FOWLER, (all pictured below) ,each with 16 counts of animal cruelty.
StarNews Online reports that Brunswick County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Emily Flax said: “Two of the dogs were in fine condition, but we required them to be signed over to our custody as well”, which is why the individuals were charged with 16 counts of animal cruelty and not 18.
All three individuals were booked into the Brunswick County Detention Facility, each under a $25,000 secured bond.
