Two years after cruelly and senselessly drowning her innocent puppy, 49-years-old TONYA FEA (pictured below) pleaded guilty to third-degree animal cruelty in Superior Court in Paterson, on Thursday, August 12.

New York Post reports that as part of a plea deal, prosecutors are recommending FEA serve 180 days in jail and five years of probation after she is released

FEA will also be required to do 100 days of community service and won’t be allowed to own a dog again.

As reported by the Daily Voice, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes said that FEA “admitted under oath that on April 30, 2019, she submerged her golden retriever puppy in a pond located in West Milford, disregarding whether the dog was alive at the time.”

FEA told judge Marilyn Clark that her puppy, whom she had adopted a few days earlier, needed veterinary care and she “panicked.”

What was the reason for the panic?”, asked judge Clark who then said: “You say you panicked, but you had a vet appointment that morning and you chose not to take the dog to the vet, you chose to take the dog in a cage and submerge it in a lake. So what were you panicking about?

FEA’s attorney, Richard Baldi, said his client made a vet appointment for the dog but ultimately decided not to go over concerns of high vet bills.

The filthy murderer is set to be sentenced on October 5, 2021.

47-years-old TONYA FEA (pictured below) has been arrested in connection with the death of a 10-week-old Golden Retriever who was dumped STILL ALIVE into a West Milford lake.

Jenny was found on April 30, by one of the officers with The Last Resort Rescue, who are also offering a reward in exchange for information related to this incident.

The organization named the furbaby Jenny.

The organization wrote in a Facebook post: “One of our rescue officers at The Last Resort Rescue found Jenny when she noticed a crate at the edge of the pond on Bonter Rd on the oak ridge side of town today with a puppy in it. The puppy was dead and ice cold, soaked inside the crate, lakebed vegetation hanging on the crate, with a lead crystal ice bucket inside the crate ( notice price tag) and wee wee pads stuck to the side of her head with a small amount of blood on them. It appears to be an approximately 10 week old female golden retriever puppy who was killed/ drowned and submerged into the pond in the crate. Weighted down with the heavy crystal vase perhaps, or maybe struck with it. “

Jenny’s body was then taken to the New Jersey Department of Agriculture’s Animal Health Diagnostic Laboratory to perform a necropsy.

It was revealed that Jenny’s cause of death was drowning.

According to detectives, on the same day that Jenny’s body was found, FEA had booked an appointment at the West Milford Animal Hospital for a Golden Retriever.

FEA did not show up for the appointment, and investigators just pieced things together and connected her to the incident.

FEA was arrested on Tuesday, May 7, and released.

She is expected in Central Judicial Processing Court in Paterson May 22, 2019.
