TRA MICHAEL HOOPES faces charges after murdering an innocent 3-week-old bunny

- Utah, USA -

On July 6, the Weber County Attorney’s Office filed formal charges against 29-year-old TRA MICHAEL HOOPES (pictured below – via Facebook).

HOOPES is accused of throwing his ex-girlfriend’s baby bunny against a dresser during an argument resulting in the death of the innocent baby.

Gephardt Daily reports that Ogden Police received a cruelty to animals call on the evening of Friday, July 2, and officers were dispatched to a condo-style residence in the 1100 block of Healy Street.

HOOPES’ ex-girlfriend told police they were arguing while inside the garage and then she went to the bedroom to pick up her 3-week-old baby bunny who required bottle-feeding.

The woman said HOOPES followed her to the bedroom and prevented her from leaving the room despite her repeatedly telling him that she had to go feed the bunny and check on her three children.

According to the report, HOOPES told the woman he was not going to let her go until she told him what was bothering her.

As reported by Gephardt Daily, “Tra eventually grabbed the very small, 3-week-old bunny with his hand and threw it to a dresser as he turned around. This act killed the bunny. The victim stated she had never seen something be thrown so hard or so fast… .“

The ex-girlfriend quickly left the room, saying she was afraid of more violence and told police HOOPES had been violent in the past but it’s unclear why he was still living with her.

An Ogden Police officer said: “The victim explained that Tra typically throws things inside of the home to intimidate or scare her. The victim believed that Tra threw the bunny to scare her as well….”

According to Gephardt Daily, HOOPES’ affidavit says: “Tra denied stopping the victim from leaving and denied ever touching the bunny. However, during the interview, Tra’s story would jump around and he was hard to keep on a story.”

The officer said that neighbors reported they “could hear the altercation from inside of their home, in which the children could have heard it.

Standard-Examiner reports that HOOPES was booked into the Weber County Jail, where he was held without bail.

The Weber County Attorney’s Office charged HOOPES with class A aggravated animal cruelty, plus misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief, unlawful detention and commission of domestic violence in the presence of children, and second-degree felony robbery.

So HOOPES, you murdered a baby bunny unable to fight back and you engaged in an argument with a woman. Fighting a man your own size in jail will be a new experience for you.

Let me know how it goes, filthy murderer!!!
