TRENTON DEWAYNE SUDBERRY and unnamed juvenile arrested for shooting a dog

Updated: 4 days ago

- Alabama, USA -

The Etowah County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of two scum in connection with the shooting of a defenseless dog named Bullet.

One of the two is 19-year-old TRENTON DEWAYNE SUDBERRY (pictured) of Gadsden, and the other one is a juvenile, so his name was not disclosed.

In a press release, Etowah County Sheriff Jonathon Horton said that on the morning of Saturday, June 29, 2024, the Department was made aware of a video circulating on social media depicting the “cruel treatment of a dog.”

In the video, Bullet can be seen tied to a tree and running around it in circle and then getting shot.

The sheriff’s office launched an investigation and by late Saturday afternoon the suspects were identified and the weapon used to shoot Bullet was recovered.

The good news is that Bullet survived the shooting and as stated in the press release, “Bullet will be receiving a full examination, and seems to be in good spirits being back with his family and should make a good recovery.”

SUDBERRY was taken into custody on July 1, 2024, and charged with animal cruelty. He was transported to the Etowah County Detention Center and records show he was released a few hours later after posting $1,000 bond.

SUDBERRY’s case is currently set for a First Appearance Hearing on July 16, 2024, at 9:00 am before District Judge Joe Nabors.

The unnamed juvenile has been charged with animal cruelty in the juvenile court system.

In a statement, Sheriff Horton said: “It's unfortunate that animals are mistreated! Animals cannot speak up, so we have to make sure we do our best to take care of them and be their voice. Animal cases are just as important as any case we work.”
