32-year-old JEREMY MICHAEL PLESS (pictured below), is finally in custody after he was wanted by Spencer Police for felony animal cruelty and discharging a firearm in the city limits.
Salisbury Post reports that PLESS was arrested on Sunday, August 16.
On May 28, the Spencer Police Department posted a BOL for JEREMY MICHAEL PLESS, of Spencer, accused of shooting a sweet neighbor’s cat named Cool Breeze with a .22 caliber rifle.
Cool Breeze’s family wrote in a Facebook post that their furbaby was out hunting salamanders in the woods when PLESS shot him.
Cool Breeze’s tiny right front leg needed to be amputated and a GoFundMe appeal was set up to raise money to pay for his medical bills.
PLESS now faces a felony count of animal cruelty and a misdemeanor charge of shooting firearms within town limits.
He was booked into the Rowan County Detention Center with a secured bond of $7,500.
