On Friday, April 3, at approximately 10:00 pm, Lee County Sheriff’s Office ( LCSO) deputies conducted a well-being check at a single-family residence in the 4500 block of 20th Street SW, Lehigh Acres.
Deputies learned that 24-year-old VICASSO LARA (pictured below), had been threatening people living at a home in the 100 block of East 11th Street where he had also killed a dog.
After deputies interviewed LARA and a witness, they went to the 11th Street SW residence and found several pools of blood outside the residence, and bloody footprints near the rear entrance of the property.
LCSO detectives obtained and executed a search warrant for the residence.
Crime scene technicians were also present at the scene.
A lifeless pup was discovered in the kitchen oven which had been turned on to its highest setting.
LCSO said in their press release that LARA had stabbed the poor dog numerous times, beaten him with a bludgeon, and otherwise brutalized the pup before putting him in the oven.
Sheriff Carmine Marceno said: “I’m speechless.” “This is possibly the most brutal and horrific example of animal abuse my team or I have ever seen. We will pursue the absolute maximum punishment for this horrific crime.”

This sick and disturbed male was booked to the Lee County Jail and charged with torture/inflict pain/serious physical injury/death upon an animal.
He is being held without bond.
LARA is scheduled to be back in court May 4.
