Following an investigation into neglected horses, on Tuesday, December 15, Rhode Island State Police troopers have finally arrested 56-year-old WARREN SHAW (pictured below),
The Rhode Island SPCA received a complaint about neglected horses in November and began to investigate.
During the investigation, two horses were found on SHAW’s property and RISPCA officers “determined both to be in need of immediate veterinary care.”
Officers reported that one of the horses was tied to a tree and was “wearing a halter that had completely embedded itself into the horse’s head.”
Both horses were removed and provided veterinary care.
SHAW is now facing two counts of unnecessary cruelty to animals.
He was released on personal recognizance after his arraignment on Tuesday.
WARREN SHAW is scheduled to be back in court on March 17, 2021.
