On Monday, January 4, San Antonio Police Department arrested 40-year-old WILLIAM ROSE (pictured below), for strangling to death his dog Rocky.

The incident happened on August 8, 2020.

According to the arrest report, a neighbor saw ROSE carrying around the apartment complex his dead dog by his neck.

Rose told his neighbor that Rocky had died, and he was going to walk him one last time.

A neighbor saw ROSE put Rocky in a makeshift shrine behind their apartment and called the police.

When ROSE was questioned by Animal Care Services, he told them Rocky died of depression.

A necropsy was performed on the furbaby and the results, which came back on September 8, revealed that the cause of Rocky’s death was mechanical asphyxia due to strangulation.

Rocky also had ligature marks around his neck

On September 14, ROSE was interviewed at the Bexar County Jail where he was incarcerated on another charge.

During the interrogation ROSE stated he took Rocky for a walk when he was approached by the security guard of the apartment complex who told ROSE that his dog had to be on a leash.

ROSE then held onto ROCKY by his collar causing him to be lifted off his front paws during the 20-minutes’ walk.

ROSE told police when he took Rocky back home, he had difficulty breathing.

He stated he left the apartment and Rocky was still alive, but when he returned, Rocky was dead.

ROSE told officers before throwing Rocky in the dumpster, he wanted to carry him one last time.

This sick murderer was charged with cruelty to non-livestock animals, a third degree felony charge. His bond was set at $25,000.

He was released on Tuesday, January 5.
