The Waller County Sheriff's Office said that 18-years-old JADYN ALAIS CARRASCO and 19-years-old ANNA GRACE KNEISLEY (both pictured) are facing charges for stealing a baby goat named Jackson Brown and a 5-month-old miniature Hereford steer named Sir Loin from Dewberry Farm in Brookshire.
According to the sheriff’s office, staff at the farm first noticed that Jackson Brown went missing on May 30, 2023, and two days later, Sir Loin was gone too.
On June 1, 2023, deputies responded to the Buccees off the Katy Freeway after Katy Police said they had two possible suspects from the theft at Dewberry Farm. Unfortunately, there was no sign of Jackson Brown and Sir Loin.
Evidence gathered during the investigation led to CARRASCO and KNEISLEY being charged with two counts of burglary of a building and two counts of theft of livestock each.
Investigators said Jackson Brown was found days after he went missing.
LMTonline reports that Jackson Brown “was recovered from the Katy Animal Shelter, skinny and malnourished”. He was starving. Wendy Lank, Director of Dewberry Farm told KHOU: “He was weak. He couldn’t really stand.”
Sir Loin was found on June 9, 2023, on a local rancher's property about seven miles away. The sheriff’s office said Sir Loin had recent cuts on his right front leg and was highly stressed and panting.
Jackson Brown and Sir Loin are gradually recovering and Wendy told FOX Houston “they are doing fantastic.”
The sheriff’s office said the investigation is still active and additional parties could be involved.
