In this article there are references to “sexual interaction with animals.”

For the record, I totally disagree with the phrase as I firmly believe that it should be called what it is, RAPE!

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrested 26-years-old SAMANTHA LEE WHITE and her husband, 28-years-old JOHN WESLEY WHITE II (both pictured).

According to a media release by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, detectives learned that SAMANTHA LEE WHITE had sexual intercourse with the family dog multiple times, and her husband recorded her engaging in the sex acts.

Court documents obtained by Voice For Us through a Public Search state that on February 15, 2024, a detective from the LCSO along with other members of the Department, executed a search warrant at the couple’s home in Fort Myers for an unrelated case regarding a “child sexual abuse material investigation.”

During her statement, SAMANTHA LEE WHITE said that she is “fascinated by a horse penis and it is interesting to her of how the horse's penis flares out” and said that she watched multiple related videos.

The report goes on to state that the woman then said she “allowed her brown Labrador retriever canine ‘Ruger’ to penetrate her vagina with his penis ‘a couple of times’ with the last occurrence being a month or so ago.”

The report further states: “Samantha advised the sexual interaction with her canine wasnot my thingbut since a horse's penis fascinated her, she decided to engage in sexual acts with her canine.”

According to the report, the woman “initially had sexual interaction with her canine when her husband was not present.”  The first time the husband was present, “the canine became aggressive and territorial”, stated the report. From that time, the husband “only watched her engaging in sex with their canine from behind the door.”

During the statement, the woman told the detective that “sometimes when she drinks she gets horny or at other times her husband would be asleep or showering and felt her male canine was giving her attention.”

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said that Lee County Domestic Animal Services removed four dogs from the couple’s home and evaluated them for injuries. Thankfully, the Voiceless Victims are now safe and are being cared for.

The pair were arrested on February 15, 2024, and booked into the Lee County Jail. The wife was arrested “for sexual activities involving animals” and the husband was arrested for “filming pornographic images or videos of a person and an animal engaged in sexual activity.”

According to arrest records, they were released the following day after posting a $5,000 bond.

Court records show that she is scheduled to appear back in Lee County Circuit Court for her arraignment on the morning of Monday, March 18, 2024, at 8:30 a.m. before Judge Frank J. Porter.

Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno expressed his disgust for the couple’s actions and I strongly echo his sentiment!

In a statement Sheriff Marceno said: “I am disgusted by the actions of these two North Fort Myers residents. I will not tolerate any kind of abuse in Lee County. I stand by my guarantee to protect those who cannot protect themselves, and put criminals behind bars.”

The investigation is still ongoing.

On September 11, 2023, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a concerned citizen regarding the well-being of a dog at a home on 31 Spanish Court in Fort Myers.

According to the criminal complaint obtained by Voice For Us, the caller also stated that they had not seen the dog in several days and were concerned the dog was not being cared for properly.

Responding deputies knocked on the front door of the residence in question and rang the doorbell several times but there was no answer at the door, and no sounds could be heard from inside the residence.

Deputies looked into the home through the glass on the door and noticed what appeared to be dog feces on the floor as well as a large cage. Deputies kept knocking and eventually the homeowner, identified as 52-years-old TERESA LYNN PIERRET (pictured), “opened the blinds, and deputies asked her to meet them at the front door”, stated the complaint.

As soon as PIERRET opened the door, deputies were hit with an overwhelming odor of feces.

They noticed dog food and black fur scattered throughout the floor, and were able to hear heavy, labored breathing.

Deputies found an adult black Labrador named BB.

According to the complaint, BB was laying down inside a cage, was experiencing labored breathing, and had audible wheezing. Deputies reported that BB “appeared lethargic as he did not respond to any verbal stimulus.”

On the floor around the cage deputies saw a large amount of black fur matching BB’s.

BB appeared wet, his fur was matted with feces, and he had a leash wrapped around his neck with the leash handle resting on top of the cage. The handle was also covered with feces and fur.

PIERRET told deputies BB was “just sleeping.”

Lee County Domestic Animal Services were called in and Officer Cobian responded to the scene.

Officer Cobian evaluated BB on site and she noted that loss of fur and labored breathing were consistent with symptoms of infection.

Deputies attempted to guide BB out of the cage, but BB struggled to stand. When eventually he was able to take a few steps, though unstable on his feet, he collapsed on his way to the door and was unable to get up again.

Deputies inspected BB further and noticed that he was not wearing a collar and underneath the leash wrapped around his neck was a laceration and red flesh visible.

After removing the leash from BB’s neck, deputies wrapped him in a blanket and carried him outside. BB was then taken to Blue Pearl Animal Hospital to undergo surgery.

PIERRET told deputies that she and her husband acquired BB in 2010 when he was approximately 6 months old. After PIERRET’s husband death in June 2023, she has not been able to care for BB. She said that BB was last seen by a vet over a year ago and that she was feeding him one scoop of dry dog food per day.

PIERRET then surrendered BB to Lee County Domestic Animal Services.

Giving the nature of the case, detectives with the South Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. They interviewed three different neighbors and according to the complaint, they all gave the same version of the facts and made consistent statements that PIERRET did not take BB outside to the bathroom more than once or twice a day. All three neighbors confirmed that BB was never seen outside exercising and that he was often left in the cage for hours when PIERRET was not home.

At that point detectives obtained and executed a search warrant at PIERRET’s home and PIERRET was interviewed at the South District substation.

PIERRET stated that she let BB go outside to use the bathroom once in the morning and once at night and admitted to leaving him in the cage with the leash around his neck. PIERRET explained she did not allow BB to roam the house, and he stayed inside his cage throughout the day. PIERRET went on to say that she gave BB water whenever “he appeared thirsty from a random kitchen dish” and when feeding him, “she would dump the food out onto the floor of his cage.” According to investigators, when they asked PIERRET about the injury on BB’s neck, she “acted like she was not aware of the large laceration.”

PIERRET also stated that she hadn't bathed BB in over a month, hadn't performed any dental hygiene, nor had she trimmed his nails.

Detectives then heard back from Blue Pearl Veterinarian Dr. Patti Sages who reported that BB “would have taken at least several weeks to reach the observed level of severity.” Additionally, Dr. Sages found BB to be severely dehydrated.

As a result of the entirety of the investigation, detectives found probable cause to charge PIERRET with felony aggravated animal cruelty. She was booked into the Lee County Jail, a.k.a. Marceno Motel, on September 11, 2023, and released the following day.

Court records show PIERRET is due back in court on November 15, 2023.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office tells me that BB has since been adopted!

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of 52-years-old JAMES MICHAEL LYSTER (pictured), a convicted felon.

According to the incident report obtained by Voice For Us, on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at 3:13 a.m. the sheriff’s office received a report about possible animal abuse at an apartment in Park Crest Apartments on 6611 Lakeshore Lane in Fort Myers.

Deputies were dispatched to the location and while enroute, deputy Martinson was advised by dispatch that the reporting party said that he could hear loud banging, a male's voice yelling, and a dog squealing.

Upon arrival, deputy Martinson knocked on the door of the apartment in question several times but no one answered. Deputies could see that the lights were on within the apartment and when deputy Martinson knocked again, LYSTER opened the door. Immediately deputy Martinson “observed blood splatter on the entry way floor to the apartment”, stated the report.

Deputy Martinson asked LYSTER if he had any dogs and LYSTER replied he had one Pomeranian. When deputy Martinson advised LYSTER of the allegations and requested to see his dog, LYSTER said he would bring the dog out, denied access to the deputy, and shut the door.

Meanwhile deputies were able to hear sink water running in the apartment.

LYSTER then re-opened the front door and dropped an 8-year-old white in color Pomeranian onto the ground by the deputies' feet without saying a word.

The Voiceless Victim, named Benji, had his face covered in blood. Benji was bleeding from the nose, mouth, and ears, was shaking and trembling, was in severe pain, could not stand, and was tender around the abdomen area.

Deputy Martinson asked LYSTER what happened to the dog and he replied: “I got mad”.

Deputies handcuffed LYSTER and walked him to a patrol unit for investigation while Benji, was transported to Blue Pearl Animal Hospital for treatment.

Deputy Martinson completed a safety sweep of the residence to make sure no other injured animals or persons were inside of the residence.

While cleaning the residence, deputies observed blood splatter in multiple rooms including, living room, bathroom, and master bathroom.

Deputy Martinson then made contact with the reporting party who said in a sworn statement that he heard what sounded like a dog being beaten, loud banging, and squealing.

Detective Clark arrived on the scene and after learning the facts, he made contact with LYSTER and read him his Miranda Warning. In his statement, LYSTER said that Benji was barking due to the neighbor’s dog barking and woke him up. LYSTER stated he then grabbed Benji and squeezed him then struck him in the head area.

LYSTER claimed he did not strike Benji more than once. However, the condition Benji was found in by deputies indicated otherwise.

Based on the statements and the apparent injuries to Benji, it was believed that the inside of LYSTER's apartment would provide evidence of a crime. Detective Clark requested a search warrant at 5:45 a.m. which Judge Schreiber signed at 5:50 a.m.

Detective Clark entered LYSTER's apartment and observed blood throughout it. The bedroom where LYSTER was sleeping appeared to be the scene where the abuse inflicted upon Benji took place. According to the report, on the wall there was blood splatter across it consistent “with what is believed where Benji was thrown against the wall.” At the foot of the wall was a puddle of blood where it seems Benji may have laid down.

It is believed that during the incident LYSTER “injured his hand and right foot possibly from kicking Benji”, stated the report.

Based on evidence collected and statements, probable cause was established for the arrest of LYSTER for one felony count of aggravated animal cruelty.

Court records show that LYSTER’s arraignment is set for September 26, 2023, at 8:30 a.m. before Judge J. Frank Porter.

At the press conference during which Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno announced LYSTER’s arrest, he said that “Veterinarians discovered that Benji had suffered a broken jaw, internal bleeding in his abdomen, and he will need additional surgeries in the future to remove his broken teeth.”

Benji is now in the care of Lee Domestic Animal Services and is expected to recover fully but it will take a while. At one point Sheriff Marceno pointed at a picture of Benji covered in blood and rightfully said: “That’s not a human being that does that to a poor, defenseless little animal. I can promise you this is going to stop. We will never stop working to protect those who cannot protect themselves. That’s not a human being that does that. That’s a cold-hearted person that had no regard for life.”

Sheriff Marceno added that if a loving home cannot be found for Benji, his grandmother would love to have him.

According to the sheriff’s office, LYSTER has a history of criminal activity in Louisiana, Texas, and North Carolina, his birthplace.

My heartfelt thank you to the neighbor who did the right thing by reporting animal cruelty. Sir, you are the reason why Benji is still alive!
