The Hattiesburg Police Department arrested 38-years-old ORLANDA EVAN WILEY and 31-years-old CORY MEKALDRICK RAMSEY (both pictured).
WILEY and RAMSEY are involved in two separate animal cruelty cases.
According to the press release by the police obtained by Voice For Us, both incidents happened on March 7, 2024, in the 20 block of Central School Road.
When officers responded to the scene, they found two dogs who were suffering from a broken leg and spine.
An investigation determined that WILEY had thrown one of the two dogs off a second-floor balcony.
Investigators further learned that the other dog had been struck by a vehicle on March 4, 2024, and that RAMSEY neglected to seek medical care for him/her. The poor dog was left with his/her injuries untreated for four long days.
The Hattiesburg Police Department Detectives and Animal Control Divisions arrested WILEY and RAMSEY for one count of aggravated cruelty to an animal. The duo were booked into the Forrest County Jail and at time of writing, online records show they are still in custody.
I have emailed the Hattiesburg Police Department to inquire about the Voiceless Victims’ well-being and I was told that this is an ongoing investigation and additional details will be released as they become available.
