JONNI VALDES GOULDING and JOSEPH TAYLOR SCROGGS accused of abandoning a blind and emaciated dog

According to the arrest warrants, the Voiceless Victim’s name was Luna. The picture has been updated accordingly. I am still waiting to hear back from the Davidson County Sheriff's Office regarding Luna’s age.


I also learned that SCROGGS’s case is currently scheduled for court on April 19, 2024.

The Davidson County Sheriff's Office announced that 54-years-old JONNI VALDES GOULDING and 56-years-old JOSEPH TAYLOR SCROGGS (both pictured), are facing animal cruelty charges in connection with a case that is beyond evil!

 

According to the media release by the sheriff’s office, on January 8, 2024, deputies received a call about a blind, emaciated Husky type dog who was found abandoned near the Warf Road/Feezor Road area.

 

With the help of the Davidson County Animal Shelter and the Neshama Animal Rescue a post was published on social media, and that helped to determine that GOULDING and SCROGGS were the guardians of the Voiceless Victim.

 

According to the sheriff's office, despite the emergency medical treatment provided to the dog and all efforts to save this precious life, the furvictim’s “condition [deteriorated] rapidly and she succumbed to her abuse and neglect.’”

 

On January 19, 2024, SGROGGS, of 300 Cloverdale Drive in High Point, was charged and arrested for one felony count of animal cruelty and one misdemeanor count of animal cruelty. 

 

On February 21, 2024, GOULDING, of 2107 Pyramids Village Boulevard in Greensboro, was charged with one felony count of animal cruelty and one misdemeanor count of cruelty to animals/abandonment of an animal. She is scheduled to appear in District Court in Lexington on the morning of Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at 9:00.

GABRIELA BARRERA arrested for taping several dogs' snouts shut

- California, USA -


The Irvine Police Department said that on Saturday, May 27, 2023, it received a call from a concerned citizen about dogs whimpering on the patio of a home on Eastshore.


In a news release, IPD said that the caller told police they saw “multiple dogs with their snouts taped closed.”


When IPD Animal Services Officers responded to the scene, they found “one dog with masking tape wrapped around its snout while it was on the outside patio. They also heard whimpering from the same area and were concerned there were other dogs in the same condition.”


21-years-old GABRIELA BARRERA (pictured) arrived while officers were on the scene investigating the incident. According to police, BARRERA “admitted to taping the dogs’ snouts closed to keep them from barking and nipping at the other dogs.”


The release goes on to say that a consent search of the property led to the discovery of a total of seven dogs who appeared to be “Husky or Husky/German Shepherd mixed breed.”

Police said officers found a female puppy, a male puppy, three adult females, and two adult males. Three of the Voiceless Victims with their snouts taped closed were BARRERA’s.


Police estimated that the tape had been around the furvictims’ snouts for over two hours. Officers also found contractor grade masking tape consistent with the one used to tape the poor souls.


BARRERA was arrested on May 30, 2023, and transported to Orange County Jail on three counts of felony animal cruelty.

Online arrest records show that she was released the following date on zero bail!

According to online records, BARRERA’s occupation is a “caregiver.”

Police said all seven furbabies were removed from the property, examined by a veterinarian, “and appear to be in otherwise good condition.”

Police advised that the investigation is ongoing and the dogs will be held until the case is adjudicated.

REWARD offered in a case where a Siberian Husky was found with a chain embedded in his neck

The Naugatuck Police Department is reaching out to the public for information after a male Siberian Husky was found wandering in Naugatuck with a chain embedded in his neck earlier this month.


On the afternoon of Monday, May 22, 2023, Naugatuck PD Sgt. Danielle Durette held a press conference during which she said that on May 13, 2023, three concerned citizens saw the dog roaming alone in the area of Platts Mill Road, which borders the Waterbury line. After they noticed the chain embedded in his neck, they lured him into a vehicle with some food and took him to Naugatuck Animal Control.

Sgt. Durette said the dog, who is estimated to be about 1-2 years old, has been named Justice. The Voiceless Victim appeared to be underweight and had difficulty walking.


Justice was later taken to Central Valley Animal Hospital where he underwent surgery to remove the 28-inch chain that was embedded in his neck. Sgt. Durette explained that Justice was diagnosed with an abscess wound as a result of the chain embedded into his skin. “The chain was obviously attached for a significant period of time to have skin growing over it”, said Sgt. Durette. She went on to say that Justice was also diagnosed with a fever and poor body condition.


Sgt. Durette said police are “investigating every avenue of this case” and urged residents who live in the area where Justice was found, to check their surveillance cameras.


The nonprofit Desmond's Army Animal Law Advocates is offering a $1,500 reward for any information leading to a criminal conviction of those involved in this egregious crime. In a recent update posted on their Facebook page, they advised that Army’s Legacy Animal Rescue And Sanctuary, Inc. has pledged an additional $300 bringing the total of the reward to $1,800.
