The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office arrested 24-year-old QUADRE ISAIAH ROBERTS (pictured).
According to the arrest report obtained by Voice For Us, early on the morning of Friday, May 17, 2024, a deputy responded to a residence in the 12400 block of SW 171st Place in Archer after receiving a call from ROBERTS’ adoptive mother.
The woman said that the night before, ROBERTS walked into the house holding a deceased cat and told her he would do the same to her. He then also told her that he had killed two of her cats, stabbing them both in the eye and leaving the knives in the wounds. According to the report, one of the cats had also his/her paws cut off.
The woman told the responding deputy that ROBERTS had been acting erratically for the past two days because she refused to give him a ride to somewhere he wanted to go; additionally, she explained that ROBERTS suffers from Bi-polar schizophrenia and refuses to take his prescribed medication.
ROBERTS was placed under arrest. The arresting deputy reported that as soon as they got into the vehicle, ROBERTS asked whether he was being arrested for killing the cats. The deputy responded that he was, so ROBERTS started screaming and said that he had killed nineteen (19) more cats. ROBERTS went on to say that he had eaten the tongues and eyeballs of two cats.
According to the report, ROBERTS further said he would kill himself in jail and that he wishes his mom “was dead and would burn in hell.” ROBERTS then stated he would kill her when he got out of jail.
ROBERTS was charged with two felony counts of aggravated cruelty to animals.
Judge James Colaw set at $200,000 bail and at the time of writing, records show the murderer is still in custody.
