Aiken County authorities arrested 28-years-old PRINCE WILLIAM DENNIS (pictured) for animal cruelty.
On the morning of Saturday, June 3, 2023, officers responded to the 2530 block of Whiskey Road in Aiken after receiving a report about a dog in distress in a hot car.
Officers found a vehicle with a Georgia tag and a dog inside. Officers reported that a bowl for water was empty and the other one that appeared to be for dog food, did not have any.
The reporting party told officers that she did not know how long the car had been in the parking lot.
Officers returned to the scene later on the same day to find the dog still in the car with a temperature hitting 86 degrees.
The Voiceless Victim was then taken to a local ASPCA.
In the afternoon, DENNIS called police asking about his dog. DENNIS told officers that he takes his dog with him when he goes to work and leaves him/her in the car. DENNIS went on to say that while the dog is in the car, he periodically checks on him/her and claimed that last time he checked on the dog it was approximately 10:00 a.m. and when he checked again at 3:00 p.m., the dog was gone.
Court records show that DENNIS, of Blythe, Georgia, was arrested on June 5, 2023, and charged with one count of ill-treatment of animals. He was released on his own recognizance.
I have sent out several emails and requested additional information about the furbaby.
If I get a response, I will update the article accordingly.
