On the evening of Tuesday, September 24, 2024, the Cape Coral Police Department arrested 20-year-old RY'QUELL JAI-RIE BELL (pictured), for animal cruelty.
A few hours earlier, BELL had just been released from the Lee County Jail for robbery and theft charges.
With regard to the animal cruelty charges, police said that officers were called to an apartment on Steeple Circle after a resident caught BELL on video abusing two defenseless dogs.
One video showed BELL letting the furvictims into an apartment and violently kicking one of them. The poor soul can be heard crying really loudly and can be seen falling on his/her side as a result of the savage kick.
In another video, BELL can be seen “letting the dogs out of an apartment and then hitting one with a bottle. The dog was heard yelping”, said police.
An investigation revealed that the dogs were not BELL’s and they are now back with their guardian.
BELL was charged with one misdemeanor count of animal cruelty and court records show he was released after posting bond. He is scheduled to be arraigned on October 15, 2024, at 8:00 a.m.
